Information coming out of the organization seems to point that the Asian board, that is the Asian section of the International Ministry Team, is providing some real leadership to the remainder of the organization. People have come to realize that the problems around Champions for Christ (the dismissal of its head, Greg Ball) as well as the financial mess with Bonnasso as discovered last year are all indicative of a deeper problem that requires serious attention.
Hopefully the board will discover that this mess is not the result of one or two figureheads that can be easily chopped off, but the root of the problem is there as a result of years of ministry compromise and arrogance as well as a lack of accountability.
If salaries have been adjusted, expenses curtailed and examination made of all the different income streams then the Asian board will understand why some people, from different places, have felt it necessary to hand information over to the IRS and FBI etc.
Perhaps the Asian board is really starting to produce the fruit of authentic repentance and for that they must be encouraged.
The board needs to be pointed in the right direction. If any person would like to do so, then you may here or directly to Murrell.
It seems that it has taken over the responsibilities of the International Financial Board appointed out of Palm Springs earlier and this is perhaps not a bad thing. I am not asking for a witch-hunt. The direction of the Holy Spirit is sorely needed in all of this. The ReformationStation does not condone politicking or power plays. Neither would we like to see character assassinations or purges.
Perhaps an independent company, certifiably not a company with any EN members in directorship, should be shown to be involved in a real forensic audit and not just organizational audits etc.
Until the leadership can provide proof that the issues raised on Factnet are being seriously dealt with we would support any person witholding their tithes to Nashville and World Missions unless their eldership can give them clear and authentic direction. Individuals should perhaps continue to support missionaries directly where they can see fruit in the ministry.
