I'm starting this thread to discuss the 4:12 Church Growth strategy. Can anyone share their thoughts, experience, etc. with this strategy as implemented in their local church or in Every Nation in general? How does it compare to previous discipleship methods including One2One, the Purple Book, etc.? Does anyone know of any churches or ministries outside Every Nation using the 4:12 materials?
Also, I'm wondering if there's anyone who would let me *borrow* their copy of the 4:12 Church Growth CD/DVD series - mainly because I can't justify the $95 purchase price at this time. If so, please write me at ulyankee@yahoo.com and we can work out details. Thanks!

ULyankee,
I don't think the 4:12 is really a whole lot to talk about. First, it's Steve Murrell's strategy, so it is not really controlling in my mind. It's a cell based church growth strategy like those employed by many charismatic churches. Of course there is more of an emphasis on discipleship than the average, but it's not the focus. The focus is on creating outreach groups. Steve seems to believe more in group discipleship with personal ministry as opposed to the rest of EN which emphasizes 1-1 discipleship more. Group discipleship helps build in a lot of checks and balances and prevent weirdness.
4:12 should also definitely not be confused with G12, which is more authoritarian in my mind.
