"I've come to the conclusion that Every Nation is currently a "movement" of mostly bonafide churches run by a cult. As a semi-student of history I compare it most closely to the Moravian Church under von Zinzendorf in the early to mid 1700s.
The churches have been used to (1) recruit as many as possible into the local churches which (2) generate more money for the cult and (3) offer a recruitment base for people (largely youth) into cult service and membership/training/leadership. The vast majority of EN members or imho even local pastors do not belong to the "cult," even if/when they are being used by the cult as the old guard former MCM pastors here exemplify quite well. But "sharps," "champs," etc. are certainly prime targets for cult recruitment. And people like me and many of us here, many of us "older" mature Christians, are kept hanging on b/c we finance this thing. The more money one has, the better. What better rationale for some of the prosperity teachings in EN. Or for casting off those who are "cursed" physically, financially, etc. (meaning - drawing resources away from EN). So tithe, give sacrificially above the tithe (see the Purple Book), and you are sowing into God's kingdom, right?
As the apostle John said in his little epistle to the "chosen lady and her children:"
Watch out that you do not lose what you have worked for, but that you may be rewarded fully. Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son. If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not take him into your house or welcome him. Anyone who welcomes him shares in his wicked work. (2 John 8:11)
This in a nutshell was why I had to leave... b/c I knew that continuing to be associated with EN and supporting them with my time, presence, and money meant I would be sharing in the wicked work that I was only just beginning to glimpse at the time.
One truly hopes though that the true, sincere church leaders in EN (yes, I do believe they're out there!!!) can wrest it away from the cult... only then will the reform that Philip R. as well as others, both in and out of EN, have prayed, hoped, and worked for have a chance.
I'm currently in a period of prayer and fasting over this whole situation. I'm not praying or fasting for a specific result or agenda... but am seeking God's will and crying out to Him. "
