This piece was written by another reader to this site.
The Every Nation/Morningstar/His People section of Factnet has attracted 20790 posts over the last 2 years. The majority of these posts been made in the last 9 months by an ever increasing number of visitors to the site. From my personal experience the majority of visitors to the site do not post at all. They lurk coming back time and time again to read and digest the information or understand it.
Someone told me recently that Factnet was mentioned negatively at the last leaders conference this year. It has also been alluded to by Laffoon and Murrell in their internet writings as well.
The regular posters on Factnet are divided into different groups of opinion and reasoning. The majority seem to agree that there are serious problems in the church and most speak out of personal experience.
I divide posters there into the following categories:
1. Former Maranatha members (including at least 3 MCM pastors who agree that Maranatha was cultic and see similar trends in Every Nation
2. Former members of Every Nation who
a. Believe that God must reform Every Nation
b. Believe that Every Nation can not be reformed and that it is an outright cult and should be disbanded
3. Current Members of EN
a. Who are searching for answers to their confusion, hurt or anger with the problems, scandals and niggling
rocking the church
b. Who have stumbled on the site and are shocked to read what they find
c. Members of EN who have taken it upon themselves to defend the organization or to debate issues posted.
If you want to use Factnet as a source of information you are going to have some difficulty as it has also become a place where people not only debate the pertinent issues but also chat with each other in friendly discourse. There has been an increase in this chatter as some Maranatha "veterans" have decided to lighten the mood and encourage others to move away from vain religious debate. Like any forum, there are a variety of opinions and even beliefs. It is a site open to all and is not strictly moderated as with other sites. Not all posters are Christian.
